Review Hannover Messe: great feedback for the AI Marketplace

What does the industry of the future look like? This was shown by 24 companies and research institutions at the OWL joint stand at Hannover Messe. From intelligent data evaluation to assembly assistance to smart product creation: The practical solutions met with a great response. The AI Marketplace also inspired not only trade visitors, but also representatives from politics.

“After two years of pandemic, the Hannover Messe is a good opportunity for us to present OstWestfalenLippe as a pioneer for the industry of tomorrow and a high-tech location with attractive jobs in business and science. The response in the first three days was excellent. The exhibitors reported good contacts and discussions. And politicians and international delegations are also interested in the many innovations from OWL,” says Wolfgang Marquardt, head of communications & marketing at it’s OWL cluster management.

AI for intelligent engineering

The AI Marketplace used three demonstrators at the Hannover Messe to show how artificial intelligence can revolutionize engineering in particular. In addition to the national roll-out of the platform, the focus was also on the two use cases of the project partners CLAAS and Hella Gutmann.

The LEGO model of FIWARE made it vivid and tangible how AI supports the development of new products with the help of the identification of like and similar parts at CLAAS. The company Hella Gutmann showed how fault diagnosis in car workshops is made faster and more efficient with the help of AI.

Numerous visitors, for example Judith Pirscher, State Secretary from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, State Secretary Christoph Dammermann from the NRW Ministry of Economics and the Members of the German Bundestag Ralph Brinkhaus and Oliver Vogt the OWL trade fair appearance informed themselves about the AI Marketplace. But also international delegations from Finland, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, Sweden and Singapore were enthusiastic about the platform and looked for cooperation opportunities.

Project coordinator Leon Özcan was pleased with the response: “We experience that personal encounters are essential for the development of our innovation ecosystem AI Marketplace. The trade fair was a good opportunity for us to present our platform to the public. In the process, we received important and encouraging feedback that will help us in the continuous further development of the AI Marketplace.”
