Excuse me, are you ready for AI yet?

Whether it is the analysis of market competitors, the identification of user preferences or the automated creation of data models – artificial intelligence (AI) offers great application potential everywhere. However, companies are not always ready to implement AI technologies. This is where the AI Readiness Check of the AI Marketplace comes in and offers companies an uncomplicated assessment of their own AI maturity level as well as initial recommendations for action.

Artificial intelligence offers the opportunity to change individual activities as well as entire processes or market services. The starting points for AI applications vary from company to company. Nevertheless, there are general prerequisites for the use of AI in industry, for example in terms of technical resources or existing knowledge.

In order to assess the readiness level of organizations for the use of AI in product development, the AI Marketplace has developed the AI Readiness Check. Specifically, it considers and evaluates three aspects: the existing expertise within the organization, the technical resources the organization has, and the use case and adopted business strategies that promote AI within the organization.

Competence – newbie or expert?

In the Competency topic area, we take a look at your AI competency, human resource management and development. For example, do you have a well-defined plan to recruit and promote AI professionals? We also analyze whether your organization has AI-related projects and how willing you are to experiment with AI.

Technology – from data analytics to cybersecurity

On the topic of technology, we evaluate, for example, how internal and externally generated data is used during the product development process. Are you still working entirely with your internal data or does your company have fully automated data management?

We look at whether digital data is stored within the company along the product creation process and how often AI models are updated with new data. Also of importance is the question of the extent to which you have analyzed company-specific IT security risks in your company and derived measures to minimize risks. For example, it may be the case that processes in product creation are largely carried out manually. Ideally, engineering processes are networked across sites or companies via IT systems, i.e., from the supplier to the customer.

Business case – AI as part of your strategy

Last but not least, we also take a look at your use case in order to derive concrete recommendations for action. Relevant here is the extent to which you are already analyzing your company-specific opportunities with the help of AI: For example, are decisions made based on experience and personal skills of Expert:innen or do you already include data in discussions about strategy, personnel, sales? How is collaboration with external partners conducted? Are you still acting alone in the field or are you networked with complementary partners to share technologies and data? Also crucial to your AI maturity is how well AI is anchored in your company in terms of personnel: For example, do you work in small project teams or is artificial intelligence already part of the corporate strategy?

After completing the test, which will cost you no more than 15 minutes of your life time, we will provide you with important impulses on how you can use AI to drive forward the digitization of your product creation. Whether you are new to this field, recognize the need for AI in your company and need starter tips – whether you are already piloting AI and need more structure – whether you are already implementing the topic of AI well, but still lack the methodologies – for every entry level, the AI Readiness Check offers simple and concrete advice for the next steps.

And if any questions remain unanswered – the AI Marketplace team is looking forward to your queries.
